Flora

Flora was a Roman goddess of flowers and the name came to Scotland via France in Renaissance times where it became popular in the Highlands.  In 1746, Flora MacDonald protected Bonnie Prince Charlie when he escaped after his defeat at the Battle of Culloden.  For this she was imprisoned but was later released during an amnesty.  She died in South Uist in 1790 on the same bed in which Prince Charlie had slept.

Forest with Burgundy

Forest with Navy

Rust with Brown

Sage with Brown -  Kathleen in her own bodice

This longer line suede leather bodice with pigskin accents on the back and front is particularly flattering to the larger figure. As with most of my bodices, it has lightweight boning down the front to keep the edges straight. The Forest combinations work well teamed up with many plaids for events such as the Scottish Games, whilst the earth tones may be more suited to your ancient kilt or to wear at a Celtic Festival or Renaissance Faire.
